THE EXPO
AQC includes an Expo open to the public each day. Visitors will have the opportunity to shop in the trading hall and view the Quilt Show. More than 90 retailers of quilting products will showcase their latest ranges. Expect to be tempted by new fabrics, books, the latest sewing and quilting machines, gadgets, tools and patterns. In fact, anything to do with quilting, you can find at the Expo. Visit for a few hours or on all four days.
OPENING HOURS:
10am to 4.30pm daily, April 12 to 15, 2012
Seminars and short workshops will also be part of the program, details to be released closer to the event.
GETTING THERE
The Australasian Quilt Convention is held in one of Australia's most historic edifices. The Royal Exhibition Building is conveniently located just north of the CBD and next door to the Melbourne Museum in Carlton Gardens. PARKING
- Melbourne Museum has undercover parking, subject to availability. Entry is via Rathdowne or Nicholson Street and is open from 6am to midnight, Monday to Sunday. For rates visit www.museumvictoria.com.au or call 13 11 02.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT
Visitors to the expo have various public transport options including:
- Tram 86 or 96 to corner of Nicholson and Gertrude Streets
- Free City Circle Tram to Victoria Parade
- City loop train to Parliament Station, a 12-minute walk to the REB
- Bus routes 250, 251 and 402 to Rathdowne Street
- Free City of Melbourne Tourist Shuttle Bus to stop No.5
(Melbourne Museum and Carlton Gardens).
