WHAT IS AQC?
The Australasian Quilt Convention is Australia's largest event dedicated specifically to quilting. This annual gathering presents quilters with opportunities to be involved on a number of levels. A convention program of classes, catered lunches and social functions operates over the four days and details are presented in this booklet.
Visitors wanting to attend for a day to shop, see the quilts and take part in a short workshop can do so by simply purchasing a ticket at the door when they arrive.
There is a traders' market (Expo), a Quilt Show, seminars and an extensive workshop program Details and timetables will be released early 2012.
OPTIONS AVAILABLE
To attend classes with the exclusive tutors, book a Gold Pass and you'll have the full package – four days of classes, plus all the social activities.
If you only want to do classes on two days, select the Two-day Package – Thursday/Friday or Saturday/Sunday.
Social events can be booked separately, and you can bring a partner or friend if you wish.
For day visitors only, buy a Day Ticket at the door and attend the Expo for fabulous shopping, see the Quilt Show and perhaps attend a seminar.
Special Events
Social functions and lectures are all part of the Australasian Quilt Convention experience.
All events are included in the Gold Pass package; Two-day packages include the events on those days; and some events can be booked separately by day visitors.

Join us for a welcome drink, finger food and some educational entertainment - details to be announced at a later date. During the evening, winners of the AP&Q AQC Challenge will be announced.

Gala Dinner

The Gala Dinner is the social highlight of AQC – an evening of entertainment, excellent food, wine and awards. Friends and partners will also enjoy this evening – and if you are a single at AQC don't hesitate to come along – you will be seated with quilters who share your interest.
Several awards will be announced during the evening:
- The National Quilt Award is presented by Bernina to the creator of the quilt judged to be the most outstanding amongst the Best of Show works from state guild quilts in 2011.
- The Shining Light Award is an encouragement award for junior quilters under 18 years of age.
- The Lut–Da Award goes to a quilter who has made an outstanding contribution to their local or quilting community via the medium of quilting.
- The Rajah Award acknowledges the outstanding contribution by an individual to quilting in Australia.
