Australian Patchwork & Quilting and the Australasian Quilt Convention present the 2012 Challenge
CALLING ALL QUILTERS:
You could win $5000 and have your quilt displayed at the 2012 Australasian Quilt Convention in Melbourne. Prizes will be awarded based on the interpretation of theme, excellence in design and craftsmanship. Entries close February 9, 2012. Viewers' choice to be conducted at AQC, 2012.
First prize: $5000
Runner-up: $2000
Viewers' choice: $500

The Viewers' Choice award will carry prize
money of $500.
Details: There is one category only. Entries can be based either on a traditional or a contemporary design that reflects and interprets the theme "What the World Needs Now". All entries must be original. An entrant may apply any techniques including piecing, appliqué, embroidery, wholecloth and/or manipulated fabric, etc. Each work must measure a minimum of 100cm (39½in) on each side up to a maximum of 150cm (59in). Winners of first prize and runner up will be announced at the AQC Cocktail Party on April 11, 2012. An entrant's quilt may be the work of more than one person as long as all parties who contribute to the quilt are nominated on the entry form as being the entrant. There is a limit of two entries per person or group.
