Frieda Anderson, USA
For many years Frieda's focus was designing and making clothing. However, all that changed in 1992 when she was in fashion design and realised that all she wanted to do was make quilts. Frieda loves to piece and fuse and says, "I have found that by fusing smaller pieces, I can work out design issues. Then I like to make a bigger, bolder statement and piece the same quilt in a large format... I now work almost exclusively with my own hand dyed cottons and silks." www.friestyle.com
Eileen Campbell, VIC
Eileen Campbell has made an astonishing number of quilts, many highly detailed and pictorial. She specialises in machine work using appliqué, embroidery and quilting as well as embellishment.

Nature, landscapes, flora, fauna and even fantasy, are featured themes in her quilting. Eileen has written several books and has produced a number of patterns. Eileen has received several awards including Best Machine Workmanship and Best of World (World Quilt Competition, USA).
Sandra Chandler Lawhon, USA
Sandra learned to quilt in 1986 while serving as President of the Embroiderers' Guild of America, Sandia Mountain Chapter, Albuquerque, New Mexico. Frustrated while trying to make a Double Wedding Ring quilt, Sandra invented the Curve Master Presser Foot which eliminates the need for pinning or clipping of even very tight curves. She then made that queen-sized quilt in just three days. Sandra and husband Jim began Just Curves, a business which researches, tests and offers tools at quilt, craft and sewing shows and through the internet. Among these tools is a line of acrylic templates for rotary cutting based on authentic ‘old- time' quilt blocks with curves. www.justcurves.biz
Sue Benner, USA
Working as a studio artist since 1980 in the field of textile and quilt art, Sue Benner continues to push the structure and content of her work. She is known for her complex dye-painted silks combined with recycled textiles to form layered pattern, vivid beauty, and riotous variation. Her academic background in science and art (BS in Molecular Biology, MA in Biomedical Communication/Illustration) lays the groundwork for her experimentation and development. A respected educator, Sue teaches workshops in surface design, textile collage, fused quilt construction, and artistic inspiration. www.suebenner.com
Susanne Cody, NSW
Susanne has been teaching throughout NSW since 1995. She enjoys sharing her passion for appliqué, her love of textiles and her keen eye for colour and design. Drawing inspiration from both traditional and ethnic sources, Sue's current works are strongly influenced by the textiles and artifacts traded along the Silk Road in Central Asia. Sue's quilts have won prizes in the Sydney Quilt Show.
Rosalie Dace, RSA
Rosalie is a full time studio artist who has worked in embroidery and quilting since 1975. She has exhibited, taught, lectured and judged internationally. Her quilts are generally abstract and she favours silks, brocades, cottons and velvets. Rosalie was nominated for 2008 Teacher of the Year by The Professional Quilter magazine (USA). www.rosaliedace.co.za
Sue Dennis, QLD
Sue favours numerous surface design techniques, free motion stitching and bold design that catches the eye and imagination to create her distinctively Australian quilts. She has been awarded many prizes and has exhibited in Australia, New Zealand, the USA, Great Britain, Europe, South Africa, Taiwan and the Middle East. Sue is Australian coordinator of World Quilt Competition, Professional Artist Member of Studio Art Quilt Associates, SAQA Oceania representative, Chair of 2QAQ (Queensland Quilters Art Quilts) and belongs to a number of quilting organisations. www.suedennis.com.au
Pam Furniss, NSW
Pam is known for her patient teaching skills and promotes a relaxed and fun atmosphere in her classes. Pam's quilts fall into two categories: one using freezer paper hand appliqué, machine piecing and quilting with easy shapes; her other style of quilts feature quick and easy machine appliqué, piecing and quilting. Projects designed by Pam appear regularly in various Australian quilting magazines.
Julie Haddrick, SA
Julie Haddrick is a prize winning contemporary Australian quiltmaker. She specialises in original stained glass and appliqué wall quilts, featuring hand dyed and printed fabrics. Julie also operates Haddrick on Fabric with her husband Peter, in Blackwood, South Australia, where she designs her stunning wall quilts and patterns. www.haddrickonfabric.com.au
Gloria Loughman, VIC
Known for her quilts featuring vivid colours and depicting the Australian bush, Gloria is adept at pushing boundaries while still managing to instil confidence in students. As well as being in demand as a teacher, Gloria has curated eight exhibitions of Australian quilts in the USA, has judged at major quilt shows and has been featured in many magazines. She has also written two books, Luminous Landscapes and Quilted Symphony, both published by C&T. Gloria won the Rajah Award at AQC in 2009. www.glorialoughman.com
Deborah Louie, NSW
Deborah's background is in textile printing and the fashion industry, but after the birth of her first child, she started quilting and moved into a home based business quilting other people's quilts. Deborah worked out the fastest and best ways to quilt on a domestic machine and had endless practice in various patterns. She is now an accredited teacher (Quilters' Guild of NSW) and spends her time teaching other people to quilt the Deborah Louie way. Her favourite technique is feathered trapunto which gives a classic timeless elegance to a quilt. www.deborahlouie.com.au
Annette Morgan, UK
From Annette: "I come from a family of needlewomen, but it was my father who taught me to knit and sew. In my early career as a theatre nurse, sewing remained a recreation. But after achieving my City and Guilds qualification in 1992, quilting and textile art became my vocation and my passion. Since then, my feet have hardly touched the ground! As a qualified Quilt Judge I am one of three tutors on the Quilters' Guild of the British Isles Quilt course, and part of the QGBI's quilt judging team." Annette's classes explore techniques and materials - burning, dyeing and painting, with sheers, metallics and anything else that comes to hand. www.annettemorgan.co.uk
Lessa Siegele, SA
As a well known quilt maker, teacher and judge, Lessa regularly travels throughout Australia teaching machine-piecing and traditional quilting. She has also taught in the USA and New Zealand. Her aim is for a stress free workshop which is fun while students learn something new. Lessa was awarded an OAM in the Queen's Birthday Honours in 2002 for services to the art of quilt making and was presented with the Rajah Award at AQC in 2007.

Brenda's vibrant, contemporary quilt designs are published regularly and she is an enthusiastic member of the international Twelve by Twelve Collaborative Art Quilt Project. www.serendipitypatchwork.com.au
